Power Sport Institute Northern Chapter Pot Luck and Tour

A cold, blustery snowy day in Cleveland could not keep the Northern Ohio Chapter
members and their guest from attending their first social event of the season.

The event was a pot luck luncheon held at the Power Sport Institute, North Randall
branch campus of the Ohio Technical College. The program consisted of an overview
lecture and tour by Bernie Thompson, Campus Director. Bernie talked about the many
faceted programs dedicated to providing motorcycle technician training on a wide array
of manufactures and equipment in the powersport industry.

This 207,000 square foot “Disneyland for Gearheads” is one of the most unique
training facilities in the world. The college was named the national “School of the year”
by “Tomorrow’s Technician” and “Chicago Pneumatic Tools”.

The tour allowed members to see just about every make and model of motor cycles, snow
mobiles and off road vehicles currently made. The vehicles were mostly newer models
going back a few years. Bernie explained the students’ work ethic, tuition, various
placement programs and technical procedures of real life job situations.

After the tour a brief question and answer session took place. The club then held a quick
business meeting discussing future programs and events. New members, students and
guests that attended were very pleased and look forward to participate in future events.
